About the event
Ready for Life North Carolina, formerly the North Carolina Preconception Health Campaign is a March of Dimes public health education campaign aimed to reduce maternal and infant death with an intense focus on African American communities.This event will focus on the importance of engaging men during the preconception/ interconception period, review relevant data on male engagement and family interactions, and discuss present and historical barriers to father involvement. We will also discuss the changes of the family dynamic that instigates a need for social programs, services and resources to adapt to these changes.This program is designed to be interactive and your participation via video and audio is highly encouraged.
Objectives Discuss the importance of father involvement. Examine enduring punitive polices that restrict/limit father engagement. Address co-parenting and social change in programs. Discuss services and resources to create healthy birth outcomes.
